You preach what you think you know;
teach what you want to know;
practice what you will know.

I woke up with those ideas rolling around in my head. Without giving them a lot of thought, they ring true. At least they fit my experience. I suspect that when I wear the preaching robes everybody knows it but me. I need to notice when eyes start to glaze over – a sure sign I’m in the pulpit.  (Not denigrating actual preachers – they’ve earned their chops.)

So for today may I drop the preaching, enjoy the teaching, and practice.
